Our custom cakes are always made to your specifications, to fit whatever special event you have planned, after a consultation with Chef/Baker Kara. About Chef/Baker Kara
Welcome to Sweet Treats by Kara! My name is Kara Ann Dotts and I would love to create the perfect dessert for your special occasion.
For the last fifteen years I've had the pleasure of serving meals to the guests of hotels on both coasts. From my starting position as a prep cook up through pantry, line cook, and finally sous chef, I've enjoyed nothing more than seeing the joy a great meal can bring someone.
When Covid-19 hit, the hotel shut their doors and the number of employees went from hundreds to less than a dozen - none of whom worked in food service. Seeing that culinary jobs were scarce, and were likely to remain so for some time, I made a decision. That's when Sweet Treats by Kara was born.
Baking had always been my favorite thing to do in the kitchen - something I inherited from my grandmother - but I didn't get a chance to showcase it professionally as much as I would have liked. Now, I get to do it every day!
